いろいろさがしたけれど、
ほんとうのしあわせなんてみつからなかった。
いろいろ、かなしくなったけれど、かなしくなかった。
なみだもいっぱいでたけれど、なみだはやがてとまった。

生きていたら明日がある。明後日もあるし、一週間後もある。
死ねば、明日はないし、
気の合う友人とも、愛しい恋人とも抱き合えなくなる。

いろいろさがしたけれど、
ほんとうのしあわせなんてみつからなかった。
いろいろ、ずっとかんがえたけど、
ほんとうにしあわせなんてことは、
どこにもない、どこにもない。
それだけ、人間はふこうということだ。

でも穏やかな心を持てば、
少ししあわせだ。少ししあわせだね。
もっともっと穏やかな心を常に持てば、
世の中に戦争なんてないし、
自殺する人もいない。私もずっと生きようと思う。
